Beschreibung
IN SEARCH of POPPA is a novel based on my personal experience as an adopted youngster drowning, until age 63, in an obsessive hunt for my biological Father’s identity and location. My story attempts to magnify the absentee problem. It highlights the effect of a birth Father’s absence on a child, emphasizing the Father’s bona fide worth in the family unit as a child psychologist, educator, spiritual leader, and life coach. An available Father nurtures the skills to battle adulthood’s complexities and offers the priceless benefits of emotional stability and confidence. This assessment of the paternal role is not a condemnation of same-sex marriage, sperm banks, or sex practices outside of the marriage unit; I am not a theologian, nor do I wish to be. Instead, I share my experience, hoping to encourage missing Fathers to reconnect. No matter the length of absence, reconnect and understand that merely bringing home or sending money through the mail does not release the missing donor, Daddy, or divorced biological Father from all other child-raising responsibilities.
