Beschreibung

Don't Cry Life Gets Better

Shanel Howard, a single mother in Norcross, Georgia, is facing rejection from her family, particularly her father, Darren Nelson, whom she refers to as the "donor." After being laid off from her job at a marketing firm, she had to work at a burger shop and rely on food stamps to support her 4-year-old son. Instead of receiving support from her half-sisters Sharon and Jada, Shanel felt belittled and worthless. Even her own mother, Shelby Howard, expressed regret for not having aborted her, claiming that she brought a curse upon the family. Fortunately, Shanel found support from Ms. Water and occasional guidance from her son father Damon amidst their own disputes. As family secrets start to unravel with Daryl Nelson and Ms. Water's revelations during a counseling session, the question arises: will Shanel and her family be able to overcome their deep-rooted issues and find healing?
