Beschreibung

"The Equivocal Nature of Sin" is a novel based on autobiographical events. It is a moving human testimony. Mirco, the protagonist, lived all his childhood in an orphanage run by nuns in Sardinia, an Italian island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. Despite the absence of parental fi gures and the abuses suffered, Mirco created his own ethics, his own concept of justice which will help him to face the adversities of life. The boy's entry into a new family in Rome, on the threshold of adolescence, marks a very troubled period characterized by an increasingly wunding and painful confl ict with his mother. Mirco also discovers sexuality which is lived at fi rst with lots of guilt feelings due to his religious upbringing and then, gradually, in a free and joyful way. On his path towards maturity, Mirco refl ects on the concept of sin and fi nds out how fragile and equivocal this concept is. The achievement of cultural emancipation and the desire to pursue a teaching career determine the protagonist's choices and actions and encourage him to overcome any difficulty.
