India is signatory to almost all the major International instruments relating to Human Rights. Indian constitutional commitment to the protection and promotion of Human Rights, finds reflection in the preamble and various other provisions relating to fundamental rights, directive principles of state policies and fundamental duties. Even after 60 years of constitutional and legal protection and support, there is still wide gape of social discrimination against Dalits in many parts of the country. Violation of fundamental rights suffered by the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, the backward communities and the Minorities groups. In the preparation of this book, it has been the author's aim to keep in mind not only the requirements of students in this subject but as well the needs of student.
