The picture book Nussi the Squirrel Needs His Friends tells a heartwarming story about Nussi, a small squirrel who has lost some of his precious acorns. The story aims for an educational approach, teaching children that it is completely normal not to find something and that it is okay to ask for help. On his adventure, he encounters various woodland animals. Each animal helps Nussi in the search, and together they experience funny and exciting moments. Although they don't find the acorns right away, they don't give up and encourage Nussi to keep searching. Through collaborating with the other animals, Nussi learns important lessons about friendship, patience, and trusting in his own abilities. At the end of the story, Nussi discovers that finding the acorns was not the most important thing. It is the journey of searching and the support from friends that truly matter.
