Beschreibung
Adventures with My pet Dragon, as told by, Pacer the dog.
Told from the dogs' perspective. Using the typical people to pet dynamic with a fun twist. The love this dog has for his dog toy, turns it into a living being in his mind as he plays with it.
I incorporate a fun twist:
What a time when roles are reversed, and your dog thinks he adopted you! Integrating the fun of owning a pet, in this case people, while looking through a dog-like lens of playing with a dog toy, and in that playful state of euphoria, the dragon becomes a real living pet dragon to Pacer the dog.
Maintaining a relatable and busy lifestyle, like of my family, I incorporate common owner to pet things for ease of connection to the situation with the twist.
Pacer the dog, tells this story in a fun filled, magical love of adventure that he shares with his dog toy, Pacer perceives Dragon is alive when playing with him. Therefore, along with adopting humans, he gives himself responsibility of ownership making his dog toy his 'pet' dragon, named Dragon. Ironic coming from a pet himself that sees it in the opposite point of view. (As if he is the owner of people and a live dragon) It is clear to the reader that Pacer the dog is a well-cared for pet that has a wild imagination of adopting people and a pet dragon.
When the dog, Pacer, plays with his dog toy it becomes his reality and we get the perspective of the dog in the midst of mundane daily life experiences that become an entirely entertaining and magical experience we get first hand through his eyes and gives a fun insight to his mind. His love for adventure, nature, and the love he has for dragon, makes it all too real to deny.
The setting of the book is autumn in a beautiful mountain town, Flagstaff, my hometown. Spending lots of time hiking and exploring all the sights Arizona has to offer, I am well versed in the hiking trails here. The family in the book sets on a trail that many avid Flagstaff hikers will find recognizable. I hope it brings comfort and pride as it is a well-represented collection of hikes within this book. Though the hike in the book is compiled of a few well-known trails located in Flagstaff, Az, it does give off some Sedona stream vibes as well. Shedding light, and perhaps some uncommon knowledge, on the area and its' abundant beauty found all over Arizona. It is not all desert and cacti here, we have streams, cliffs, boulders, pines, and aspens for a year-round tourist area/state attraction.
This book includes special thanks and appreciation to the Flagstaff fire crews, and volunteers that work tirelessly to keep our forests and mountain clean, clear, and safe. And as a hope to act as a reminder to any and all visitors to respect wildlife, nature, be educated and prepared for all that may occur on such adventures. As wildfires, man-made, unattained and unattended fires are no laughing matter. They cause destruction to the locals during the fire and after, due to monsoons this results in in flooding and loss of homes from both water and fire. When encountering wildlife, it is best to keep distance and awareness. No feeding as they have special diets that we do not want to encroach upon! It is best to make your whereabouts known to friends and family, when possible do not hike alone! Hydrate, and pack accordingly, "pack in- pack out" is typical for almost all trails. Be respectful. Maintain awareness and know protocol when finding yourself in dangerous situations such as with bears and mountain lions. It is the hikers' responsibility to educate themselves on safety steps and tips.
